Wimbledon Speedway Supporters Club are proud to announce its support for the ‘Two Fat Submariners’.

The ‘Two Fat Submariners’ are Barry Bishop and Steve Mills, and they are giving a year to charity by cycling from Lands End to John O’Groats in aid of Help for Heroes, competing in the Wroclaw Marathon in aid of the NSPCC an...d also swimming the Channel in aid of the Make a Wish Foundation.

“The Wimbledon Supporters Club will be carrying the Two Fat Submariners logo on our website, along with a link to their website (www.twofatsubmariners.com) to highlight our support for a worthy campaign by two guys who have undertaken to complete three gruelling events in the space of a year” announced WSSC Chairman, Nick Taylor.

“We will be seeking permission from the BSPA to ride again in the near future, so as part of our support we have agreed to sport the Two Fat Submariners logo on our race jackets.”

“We have invited both Barry and Steve to the Wimbledon Speedway Reunion on March 13th, and will give them the opportunity to speak about their plans during the evening”

Barry Bishop, one of the Two Fat Submariners, said, “TheDons is a team name integrated with speedway history since 1929 and I am very proud that the supporters club have decided to get involved with the Two Fat Submariners. Of course both Chris Schramm and Terry Day are two of our support riders that have ridden for Wimbledon, and I have had a few skids with ‘Buzz’ Burrows over the years, who I know is a current favourite.”

“Steve and I really appreciate the clubs support and I know that with their help we will raise our end total significantly and we look forward to meeting with them soon and more importantly attending a meeting where the Dons are competing... maybe even against a Two Fat Submariners select.”
